In this guide
You designed the ad. The client approved it. Then the real work starts: a Square for the feed, a Portrait, a Story, a Landscape, a leaderboard, a medium rectangle, and "one more size for LinkedIn". Each one is the same approved idea, rebuilt again by hand.
Tadvio is an ad resizer studio for static ad designers. It removes the repetitive production work that comes after approval, while leaving every creative decision with you. This guide covers the problems of multi-size ad production, what a good ad resizer should do, how Tadvio compares with the workflows teams use today, and what the time savings look like in numbers.

The production gap: why resizing approved ads eats your week
Resizing sounds like a small task. In practice it is where campaign timelines slip. These are the problems static ad designers describe most often.
1. The same ad, rebuilt over and over
A campaign rarely needs one size. Meta, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, YouTube and Google Display each want different shapes. One approved master can turn into 10 or more files, and every one is rebuilt from scratch in Photoshop, Illustrator or similar app.
2. New ratios break approved layouts
A square layout does not simply "become" a 9:16 Story or a 728×90 leaderboard. The headline no longer fits, the product gets cropped, the logo lands in a corner that the platform UI covers, and the CTA drifts off the visual hierarchy. Every ratio is a new composition problem.
3. Crop, stretch and pad do not count as production
Quick resize tools often crop the subject, stretch the image or add flat bars to fill the frame. The result technically has the right dimensions, but it does not look like the approved ad, so the designer ends up fixing it anyway.
4. Safe zones and interface overlays
Stories and Reels place usernames, captions and buttons over the creative. Text that looks fine in the design file can disappear under the app interface once the ad goes live.
5. Arabic and right-to-left layouts
For teams working in Arabic and English, every size exists twice, and RTL typography cannot just be mirrored mechanically. Many tools treat Arabic as an afterthought.
6. Brand consistency across dozens of files
Logos, colors and fonts drift when the same ad is rebuilt by different people, in different files, at different times.
7. More handoffs, more review rounds
Every extra format adds another round of checking before launch. Hours go into production and QA instead of ideas and testing.
What static ad designers need from an ad resizer
Before comparing tools, it helps to define what "good" looks like for designers who already have an approved creative.
- It starts from the approved ad. The signed-off design stays the source of truth.
- It recomposes, not crops. Each ratio gets a layout that works for that shape.
- Nothing moves without you. Positions you set should never change silently.
- Every size stays editable when you need fine control.
- Exact output dimensions for each placement, not approximations.
- Brand rules are reusable — logo, colors and typography set once.
- Arabic and English are both first-class, including RTL layouts.
- Costs are predictable before you click, with no surprise charges.
- Safe areas are visible, so you can check overlays before export.
Meet Tadvio: three workflows, one job
Tadvio is production automation for finished static ad creatives. It is not a template marketplace or a text-to-image generator, and it does not try to replace designers. It has three entry points, depending on what you already have.
| If you have… | Use | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| You want editable elements and full per-size control | Studio | Editable designs in every size, with per-size control |
| One finished, flattened, approved image | AI Resizer | Adapted images for new sizes and aspect ratios |
| A creative you are not sure is ready | Creative Preflight (free) | A readiness score, issues to fix, and the sizes you are missing |
Studio: features and benefits
Studio is where static ad designers keep full control. Add your photo, logo, copy and CTA directly as editable elements, or optionally bring reusable assets from a PSD or PDF-compatible Illustrator file. Choose your sizes, and Studio lays the elements out across every format. Each size is a real, editable design, not a flattened image.

| Feature | What it does | Why it matters to you |
|---|---|---|
| Multi-size generation | Builds a layout for every selected size from one set of editable elements | Hours of rebuilding become minutes of review |
| Per-size editing | Move, scale or restyle any element in one size without touching the others | You keep the last word on every output |
| All sizes / This size only | Apply a text style change everywhere, or only to the current size | Global consistency with local exceptions |
| Designer-authored positions | Nothing you place is moved by the system afterwards | No silent changes to approved work |
| Image framing per size | Pan and scale the photo inside each frame independently | The subject stays the hero in every ratio |
| AI background extension | Extends the surrounding image where a new ratio needs more space | No flat bars or awkward crops |
| Clear generation states | Each size shows Generated, No AI needed · free, or Needs generation · 10 credits | You know exactly what will cost credits before you click |
| Brand Kits | Logos, colors, fonts and layout rules saved once and reused | Consistent output across every campaign |
| Native Arabic (RTL) and English (LTR) | Direction-aware typography and positioning | Bilingual campaigns without a separate setup |
| Safe Area guide | Shows the recommended safe area and flags elements outside it | Catch text that platform UI would cover |
| Layers with per-size visibility | Hide a layer on all sizes, or only on one | Drop a disclaimer on a tiny banner without losing it elsewhere |
| Size library | Recommended sizes plus platform presets: Meta & Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, Pinterest, YouTube and Google Display / IAB | Pick the media plan, not the pixel math |
| Undo, redo and autosave across devices | Work is saved as you go, with protection when a newer version exists elsewhere | Start on desktop, review on your phone |
| Optional PSD & Illustrator import | Bring reusable text and visual assets from supported source files when you have them | Faster setup from existing files; not required to use Studio |
A typical Studio workflow has four steps: add your creative elements, choose your sizes, generate the layouts, then adjust and export — one size at a time or all at once.
AI Resizer: the fast track for finished creatives
Sometimes you only have the finished, flattened, approved ad and need it in a few more ratios. That is what the AI Resizer is for.
Upload the approved image, pick the target sizes, and the AI Resizer recomposes it for each new ratio, keeping the same campaign, content and hierarchy. It adapts the layout instead of stretching, cropping or padding it.
Before · Square
After · Story
When the fast track is the right choice
- The creative is final and you do not have (or do not need) the source layers
- You need a handful of extra ratios quickly — for example a Story and a Landscape from a Square
- The ad is simple enough that small layout decisions can be left to the adaptation
- You want to test a new placement before investing in a full Studio build
When to use Studio instead
- You need to edit text, positions or styling inside individual sizes
- The campaign has many sizes and needs pixel-level brand control
- Legal copy, prices or offers must stay exactly where they are
How AI Resizer credits work
- 10 credits when the AI creates a new layout ratio
- 0 credits for a size with the same proportions as your source (direct resize)
- Sizes that share a ratio share one AI adaptation
- Regenerate with optional direction (for example "give the product more space") for 10 credits
- Results stay available to download for 24 hours

Creative Preflight: check before you launch
Creative Preflight is a free check for a finished creative. Upload it and Tadvio reviews four areas:
| Area | What is checked |
|---|---|
| File health | Resolution, file weight, format and transparency |
| Layout safety | Edge bleed and the safe area that vertical placements expect |
| Readability | Text size and measured contrast at feed scale |
| Size fit | Which placements this shape can serve as-is |
You get a readiness score, grouped findings (Must Fix, Should Improve, Passed and Not Checked), and a list of campaign sizes the creative does not cover yet. From there, one click hands the creative and the missing sizes to the AI Resizer. Your creative is not stored during Preflight.
Tadvio vs other resizing workflows
Most teams produce multi-size ads in one of four ways today. The table compares them against what static ad designers need. Capabilities of general-purpose tools vary by product and plan; the rows describe the typical workflow, not a specific vendor.
| Criterion | Manual rebuild (Photoshop / Illustrator / similar) | Resize in general design tools | Crop / pad / auto-fill resizers | Tadvio Studio | Tadvio AI Resizer |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starts from the approved ad | Yes, by hand | Usually needs a template-based design | Yes | Yes (editable elements) | Yes (flat image) |
| Recomposes for new ratios | Yes, manually | Partly; often needs cleanup | No — crops or pads | Yes | Yes |
| Per-size control | Full | Varies | Minimal | Full, per size | Regenerate with direction |
| Positions never move silently | Yes | Varies | N/A | Yes | N/A (image output) |
| Editable output | Yes | Usually | No | Yes | No (images) |
| Background extension | Manual or separate tool | Varies | Often flat fill | Built-in, AI-assisted | Built-in |
| Arabic / RTL | Manual | Varies | Rarely considered | Native | Keeps reading direction |
| Safe-area guidance | Manual guides | Varies | Rare | Built-in guide | Via free Preflight |
| Cost visibility | Designer hours | Subscription | Per image or subscription | Shown per size before generating | Shown before generating |
| Time per extra size (typical) | 15–30 min | Minutes plus cleanup | Seconds, often redone | Minutes of review | Minutes of review |
The short version
- Manual rebuild gives full control but costs the most time — and most of that time is repetition, not design.
- General design tools work well when you design inside them from the start; approved work from other tools often needs rebuilding first.
- Crop and pad tools are fast but rarely produce something a designer would ship.
- Tadvio keeps the control of a manual rebuild and removes the repetition: Studio when you need editable, per-size control, AI Resizer when you only have the final image.
ROI: what manual resizing really costs
The easiest way to judge an ad resizer is to price the hours it replaces. Here is a worked example. The assumptions are illustrative; replace them with your own numbers, or use the free Tadvio production cost calculator for a personalised PDF.
Assumptions
| Input | Example value |
|---|---|
| Campaigns per month | 8 |
| Sizes per campaign | 10 |
| Manual time per extra size | 20 minutes |
| Review and fine-tuning time per size with Tadvio | 4 minutes |
| Blended designer cost | $35 per hour |
| Tadvio plan | Pro — $149/month, 2,500 credits (≈ 250 AI-generated sizes) |
Result
| Manual workflow | With Tadvio | |
|---|---|---|
| Sizes produced per month | 80 | 80 |
| Production time | 1,600 min ≈ 26.7 hours | 320 min ≈ 5.3 hours |
| Designer cost | ≈ $933 | ≈ $187 |
| Tool cost | — | $149 |
| Total monthly cost | ≈ $933 | ≈ $336 |
| Saving | ≈ $597 and ≈ 21 hours per month |
This example assumes every size needs AI generation (80 sizes × 10 credits = 800 credits). In practice, sizes that share your source ratio, and Studio sizes where the image already covers the frame, cost nothing, so the credit use is often lower. The bigger gain is usually the 21 hours: time that goes back into concepts, testing and client work.
If you choose Pro annually, the plan costs $1,490/year instead of $1,788 across 12 monthly payments, saving $298/year — equivalent to two months free. This is additional to the workflow savings shown above.
Which workflow should you use?
| Your situation | Best starting point |
|---|---|
| You need editable elements and many sizes with brand control — add them in Studio or optionally import PSD / PDF-compatible Illustrator files | Studio |
| You have one finished image and need 1–5 more ratios fast | AI Resizer |
| You are not sure the creative is ready for Stories, feeds or banners | Creative Preflight, then AI Resizer |
| Bilingual Arabic + English campaign | Studio (native RTL) — AI Resizer also keeps reading direction |
| Legal copy, prices or offers must not move | Studio |
| Testing a new placement before a full build | AI Resizer |

Designing static ads that resize well
Whatever tool you use, a few habits make every master easier to adapt:
- Keep key elements away from the edges. Leave breathing room around the logo, headline and CTA.
- Separate text from the background. Text baked into a photo is harder to recompose.
- Design with safe areas in mind. Keep important text out of the top and bottom zones that Stories and Reels cover.
- Use a background that can extend. Soft gradients, studio backdrops and textures extend more naturally than busy scenes.
- Check contrast early. Aim for at least 4.5:1 for text that must be read at feed size.
- Avoid tiny legal text. Text under roughly 2% of the creative height becomes unreadable on phones.
- Plan the size list before you design. Knowing you need a 728×90 banner changes how you build the master.
Frequently asked questions
What is an ad resizer?
An ad resizer turns one ad creative into the other sizes a campaign needs — for example Square, Portrait, Story, Landscape and display banners. Good ad resizers recompose the layout for each ratio instead of simply cropping or stretching the original.
Is Tadvio just cropping or stretching my ad?
No. Studio lays out editable elements for each size and extends the background where a new ratio needs more space. The AI Resizer recomposes a finished image for each new ratio while keeping its content and hierarchy.
What is the difference between Studio and AI Resizer?
Studio works with editable elements and gives you editable designs in every size with per-size control. You can add the creative elements directly in Tadvio or optionally bring reusable assets from supported PSD or PDF-compatible Illustrator files. AI Resizer works from one finished, flattened image and returns adapted images. Use Studio for control, and AI Resizer as the fast track for simpler cases.
Can I edit an AI Resizer result?
AI Resizer results are images, so the text inside them is not editable. You can regenerate a size with direction, such as "give the product more space". If you need to edit individual elements, use Studio with your layers.
Does Tadvio support Arabic and right-to-left layouts?
Yes. Studio has native Arabic (RTL) and English (LTR) layouts, and the AI Resizer keeps the reading direction of Arabic and English creatives.
How many credits does a resize cost?
A size that needs AI generation costs 10 credits. Sizes with the same ratio as your source cost nothing, and Studio sizes that do not need AI are marked "No AI needed · free". A manual regenerate costs 10 credits.
Which ad sizes does Tadvio support?
Recommended sizes (1080×1080, 1080×1350, 1080×1920, 1920×1080) plus platform presets for Meta & Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, Pinterest, YouTube and Google Display / IAB, including 728×90 and 300×250. You can also add custom sizes.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. The Free plan includes 100 credits once on signup (about 10 AI-generated sizes), with no credit card required. Creative Preflight is free to use.
